The Diwa ng Kalayaan 2008 was recently held last April 26 at the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Newark Airport Hotel. Erika May Pineda was crowned as Diwa ng Kalayaan 2008. She would be participating in the Independence Day Parade on June 1 as the Spirit of Independence, in her own special float, preceded by another float bearing the “Diwa ng Kalayaan” court of beauties.
