‘David Foster & Friends’ performers, including Charice, rehearse at the Rosemont Theater in Chicago a day before the 10-city tour kickoff.CHICAGO – The much-awaited 10-city tour of David Foster & Friends began with a big bang at the packed Rosemont Theater in Chicagoland Wednesday, Oct. 21.

But before that, David Foster himself opened the doors of the theater to the Asian Journal to watch the rehearsals the day before.

To say that the entire group’s schedule was hectic would be an absolute understatement.

David and Charice began their day by trooping to the WGN studios, where one of Chicago’s more famous morning shows is taped. Then it was off to rehearsals.

David Foster talks with guests at the kickoff for the 10-city tour of David Foster & Friends held at the Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse in Rosemount.Looking at it from the sidelines, it was evident that David Foster means serious business as he practiced with some of his friends who are appearing with him in this US and Canada tour.

Among those who rehearsed that day were Deborah Cox, Cody, Peter Cetera, Charice and American Idol alum Michael Johns, who was celebrating his 31st birthday.

The prolific 15-time Grammy award-winner will also visit New York (WaMu Theatre @ Madison Square Garden on Friday, Oct. 23), New Jersey (Prudential Center in Newark on Saturday, Oct 24) and Boston (Agganis Arena on Sunday, Oct. 25) before moving on to Atlanta, GA (Oct 28); Tampa, FL (Oct 30); Hollywood, FL (Nov 1); Los Angeles, CA (Nov 5); San Jose, CA (Nov 6); and Vancouver, BC (Nov 8).

Like his previous David Foster & Friends concerts at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Foster will take centerstage on the piano and assisting his bevy of guests.

"One of the things that I love about Filipino fans is that they love ballads. They love romantic music and in our shows, there will be a lot of romantic music, and of course, a lot of Charice, too," Foster said in an interview with the Asian Journal.

Charice is expected to sing between four to five songs, including her hit single Note to God, which she debuted on Oprah a few months ago. Of course, her The Bodyguard medley will be there, as well as the Celine Dion power ballad Power of Love.
