The Vision
Located in the center of the entertainment capital of the world, LA Live is a $2.5 billion entertainment, dining, sports and residential campus in downtown Los Angeles. Leveraging the tremendous success of STAPLES Center, LA Live will expand its entertainment content to include complimenting venues, fully functioning broadcast studios, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, bowling lanes, music clubs and an innovative museum. Encompassing six giant city blocks and four million square feet, LA LIVE boasts more music per square foot than anywhere in the country.
In addition, LA Live will serve as the catalyst to enhance the economic performance of the adjacent Los Angeles Convention Center by adding two luxury hotels. Together, they will create a convention headquarters destination with substantial meeting and hospitality space.
Launch Timing
With the opening of Nokia Theatre LA Live and Nokia Plaza last October 18, 2007, guests already have begun to experience the exciting and dynamic performances and events coming to LA Live.
The second phase of the district opened on November 2008 with a variety of venue openings, including Club Nokia, New Zealand Natural Ice Cream and Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge.
This month, LA Live comes to life even more with its next phase of openings. In addition to the Conga Room, restaurant openings will include The Farm of Beverly Hills, Yard House, ESPN Zone, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar and Lawry’s Carvery. Corporate office space and the much-anticipated Grammy Museum also opened their doors. Additionally, district visitors will enjoy the Light of the Angels, an extraordinary multi-media, million-light display which will take place hourly, every night from December 4-31.
ESPN’s west coast Production Center will open in the first quarter of 2009 along with Katsuya, Rock ‘N Fish, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, Rosa Mexicano , Trader Vic’s and the 14-screen Regal Cineplex (November 2009). In early 2010, the JW Marriott Hotel at LA Live, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Los Angeles and The Ritz-Carlton Residences at LA Live will be finalized.
