Billy Crawford during a performanceWITH a trail of success following him wherever he goes, Billy Joe Crawford, armed with loads of talent and strong charisma, never fails to leave his audience awe-stricken whenever he performs.

From the time he was that adorable Filipino-American child star in the defunct variety show, That’s Entertainment, to when he became a successful pop and R&B singing sensation in 2000, Billy was not only known locally but in other countries like France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Germany as well.

Despite the rumors that he decided to quit his international career when he signed in for a local reality dancing show MOVE by GMA 7 and decided to be bound by a contract with ABS-CBN where he hosted Pinoy Dream Academy, Pilipinas Got Talent and Panahon Ko ‘To, then became a regular performer at variety show ASAP, Billy never lost his touch.

He is about to prove it some more by reviving his international career again which he decided to take a break from in 2007.

During a recent press conference for his anniversary concert, Billy made clear that he is not planning on giving up his international career.

"It’s not about giving up. I have never thrown down my towel and said that It’s done and over with, that I’ll stay here [in the Philippines]. I’m just saying, I am here, I’m under a contract with ABS-CBN. I’m doing three shows, there’s Panahon Ko ‘To, Pilipinas Got Talent, then there’s another one. I would first establish these projects first," he said in an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal.

Still driven and ambitious at 28, Billy said no one is never too old to create new dreams; which is why he decided to plan on his next international comeback—by making a new international album.

Billy said that he already finished working on seven songs for the album but that he needed seven more, so he has to fly to France next year.

The young and multi-talented Billy remains humble and keeps a steady perception on life; saying that he is not after being popular but in feeling a sense of accomplishment on trying something that works and sticking to it.

Billy has made it through the international scene with his number one hits Trackin and When You Think About Me among others. These are some of the songs that stayed in foreign charts back in the early 2000. But Billy did not let this go to his head and believes that when a person is at the top, he can only go down. He also explained it’s a "start program" for him again, reiterating that he never said that he stopped his international career.

Billy is confident in the support of his Filipino fans should the time come he has to leave. He says, he felt the strong support even when he was in France. When he came back to the country after a very long time, the warm welcome of the fans overwhelming according to him.

Meanwhile, during a separate interview last year, Billy mentioned that a part of the reason why he decided to stay in the country is to "patch things up" with German "Kuya Germs" Moreno with reasons he refused to disclose. Kuya Germs was the host and producer of the defunct show That’s Entertainment and whom Billy considers to be his father in the show business industry.

And patched up things they did late last year.

Billy said he owed so much of his training as a performer to That’s Entertainment. That is why in 25 B.C, his 25th year anniversary celebration as a performer, Billy wishes to highlight his eight years of being in That’s Entertainment in the concert.

Other highlights to watch out for the concert this September 11,18, and 25 would be the stages in Billy’s career where he decided to branch out and learned how to write and produce songs. He will also include in the concert his experience in France and Germany among his many international tours. The multi-talented singer says he finds it amazing to be blessed and be rewarded with something new every five years. (AJPress)
