Sharon with co-hosts Christian Bautista and Erik SantosSharon Cuneta- Pangilinan, also known as the country’s one and only Megastar, continues to radiate in the entertainment scene as she embarks on several projects not long after her self-titled musical talk-show ended.

With her home-improvement program called Sharon@Home recently launched this September on a local cable network, along comes Star Power—the talent search for the next pop superstar, and the second to the three shows intended for Sharon.

Star Power, Sharon’s search for the next female pop superstar aired its pilot episode last October 10.

In Star Power, Sharon will be helped to pick out "the best of the best" by judges actor/director Edgar "Bobot" Mortiz, concert icon Mitch Valdes, and international R&B sensation/TV host Billy Crawford, plus guest judge Arnel Pineda of the internationally known band Journey.

Sharon will also be hosting ABS-CBN’s the all-female singing competition together with two of the most talented young singers of this generation—Erik Santos and Christian Bautista.

One might think that with a credible set of judges, deciding on the ultimate female superstar would be effortless. On the contrary, the Megastar said in an interview with The Buzz that narrowing down the contestants from 20 down to 12 was hard for her and the judges as the aspiring female superstars were "all excellent."

Sharon CunetaShe then marveled during the interview how remarkably talented each contestants were and said that having her name attached to the show’s title implies that these promising contestants have to live up to her standards on what a real star should be like.

Being an accomplished multimedia entertainer herself, Sharon also said that how she involves herself in guiding the talented aspirants is what makes this talent search different from the other talent search.

Aside from being the "ultimate mentor" of the contestants, Sharon was also proud to say that the young girls of the show all have unique voices.

"Hindi yung lahat [kailangan] katunog ni Sarah [Geronimo], [o kailangan] katunog ni Charice, (Not all of them need to sound like Sarah [Geronimo] or Charice." The Megastar added, "Mayroon ding mga ganoon [pagkakataon] pero nagagawa nilang ibahin (Yes, there are times [when singing like Sarah or Charice were preferred], but they still managed to show versatility in terms of singing."
