LOS ANGELES - An urgent call to all: Be generous this Christmas season, donate/give to STP Relief Drive for Mindanao 2011 and help the victims of the Mindanao flood victims, 2011.
The Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV), an alliance of veterans, youth and community organizations in the United States reported today that the People’s CORE , a 501 (C) 3 organization in Southern California announced Sagip-Tulong Pilipinas (STP) and is accepting now, cash or check only donations for Sagip- Tulong Pilipinas (STP)-Emergency Relief to Mindanao flood victims.

This relief effort is sponsored by Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV) ,Alliance-Philippines, Bantay -Pilipinas-LA, EPCC, KmB and other allied organizations in the United States.as a response to widespeard devastation cause by Thypoon “Sendong” in Northern Mindanao. As of the latest PNRC report, more than 1,000 people were killed, more than a thousand is still missing and more than 40,000 people remained homeless.
All donations more than $50,00 is tax-deductible. Please be generous and donate for our countrymen victims of “Sendong.”
With more than 900 dead, thousands missing and more than 300,000 homeless, they need our aid now!
All donations will be sent directly to thypoon victims in Cagayan De Oro City, the most devastated area hit by the eye of the storm and flash floods that came after.
The STP-Relief Mindanao 2011 decided to send cash/checks donation only because it will take time to send Balik-Bayan Boxes( almost two months) to Mindanao. We don’t want to take away precious help to pay for Balik-bayan boxes. We are pressed for time and our people need urgent help now.
The STP helped the victims of Ondoy in 2009 and was able to raise $ 14,000, sending an estimated $ 60,000 worth of goods and medicines to the Philippines from September to January 2009.
Earlier, the KmB was able to raise $7,000 and sent it to the Philippines in 2007, when a typhoon devasted Quezon and Manila.
