I am requesting your help to promote to our Filipino Clergy and friends important legislative action regarding the crucial Health Care Reform Bill. This is in conjunction with the proper, necessary and essential exercise of our faithful citizenship.
The passage of the Health Reform Bill is of utmost important since it will contain provisions that have deep religious and moral implications. We need a Health Care Bill that contains provisions that respect, uphold and safeguard the dignity and sanctity of human life from the moment of conception till death. It is imperative that we as Church, especially leaders do our responsibility to form and educate the consciences of our flock so that our values, rights and beliefs are well respected and protected.
In view of the aforementioned, kindly forward the California Catholic Conference website and encourage our clergy as well as their parishioners to access the CATHOLIC LEGISLATIVE NETWORK in order to take appropriate action. We can call or send letter through email or fax to our elected officials to pass a Health Care Reform Bill that the Catholic Bishops support. Here is how to:
- Go to www.cacatholic.org website
- On the top right hand side, then click on CATHOLIC LEGISLATIVE NETWORK
- Click on Alerts or Take Action – from then on, follow the prompt as instructed
I hope we can spread this around to gain more support for the passage of the Health Care Reform Bill that we as the Church support.
