In celebration of October as Filipino American History Month, The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program and the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) present a screening of the documentary film: The Great Pinoy Boxing Era (Corky Pasquil and Agrafino Edralin), with a panel discussion and demonstration on Filipino martial arts.
The film will be followed by a presentation from Professor Linda España-Maram, along with presentations and demonstrations by internationally renowned martial artists Dan Inosanto and Rosie Abriam. Gem Daus of the University of Maryland, College Park moderates.
The event will be held at the Carmichael Auditorium of the National Museum of American History, Washington DC from 6:30-8:30pm.
The event is free and open to the public.
