LOS ANGELES – Pacific Asian Counseling Services announced today that it is organizing an electronic waste event to raise much-needed funds for very low-income children and families in need of mental health services. PACS will hold the event on January 17, 2009 from 9am to 1pm at the agency’s sites in Long Beach and Westchester, CA.
The E-Waste fundraiser is a step outside of PACS traditional scope of mental health services, and addresses a larger issue of protecting the environment. The fundraiser will provide an environmentally friendly way to dispose of unwanted electronics. The donated items will help raise funds for counseling and social service programs for the underserved in the Asian Pacific Islander community.
PACS is currently collecting electronic donations from companies whose electronic waste will fill up a pallet.
