Island Pacific Supermarket raises over $12K for Typhoon Sendong victims

ON December 17, 2011 Typhoon Sendong ravaged the Southern part of the Philippines killing over 1500 people and displacing nearly 20,000 families.

In the spirit of bayanihan, Island Pacific Supermarket’s answered the call for support and started a fundraising initiative called Damayan drive last December 19.  

Since then, customers from their nine (9) branches: Panorama City, Canoga, Cerritos, West Covina, North and South Vermont Los Angeles, Union City, Vallejo, and National City, managed to raise over $12,000.

The donation was reported to the Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles thru Deputy Consul General Daniel Espiritu and Vice Consul Mary Joy B. Ramirez. 

Island Pacific will remit the amount directly to the Philippine National Red Cross ongoing relief operations for Typhoon Sendong Victims
