LOS ANGELES — Six of the seven new executive officers of the 15 people Board of Directors of the elected Filipino American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA) for 2012-2015. FACLA is the oldest now-profit organization of Filipinos in Los Angeles were inducted last night, January 28, 2012 at their induction ceremonies at FACLA Social Hall.
The newly sworn in officers were inducted by council-member Elito Santarina of Carson City. Two other members of the 15 member board were also inducted. Conspicously absent were seven other members of the board of directors.
Mr.Adolfino Aguayon, gave the welcome remarks and introduced the speaker, Council member Santarina. Rizalino Manuel, the campaign manager for the CBC also gave his speech.
New Set of Officers
Inducted executive officers were Adolfino Aguayon, President; Norma Salvaterra, Ner Azaula and Perfecto Tobias, vice presidents; Cris Florendo, Secretary; Alice Parino, Treasurer and and Brigido Mandia as auditor. Jess Prado and Ike Rongavilla were also inducted as board members.
In his inspirational talk, Santarina also reminded the new officers for the need to be leaders by example. Quting from Lee ioca he said,” A leader cannot defend on others. What he cannot demand of himself. “
The closing remarks was delivered by Norma Salvaterra. Mr, Ner Azaula was the emcee.
