Such projects include scholarship grants to needy and deserving students in the high school and college levels; medical and dental missions for the poorest of the poor; philanthropic collaboration with other organizations; athletic (basketball) clinics in the urban centers of depressed cities; and assistance to former athletes in dire straits.
The PBA Legends USA Foundation is a recipient of the 2009 Bayaning Pilipino Award whose search was sponsored by ABS-CBN TFC and by the Ugat Foundation based in Manila . The Foundation was selected as one of top five awardees, from among many, all over America . The Foundation won for its charitable program of medical, dental, optometry missions in the Philippines, care for its members and people in need, and for bringing joy to people with its Pinoy basketball nostalgia in America.
