ON Saturday, September 5 at 5pm will be their second Hawaiian Luau Celebration.
The Church Council Committee Members of La Verne United Methodist Church under the supervision of Babe Samson Ortega will be hosting this year fundraising event to benefit both Church Ministry Programs and Church Improvement Projects.
Last year they had an Elvis Presley impersonator performed by Cres San Jose, a member of Back On Track.
This year they will have Michael Joseph V. Tupaz who will potray “Young Elvis Presley,” during the 50’s & 60’s.
Different tropical dances will be in abundance. Following group who will be performing are the Colton UMC Tongan youth, Jessica & Jaimie Ortega and Jona Lardizabal who will be dancing under the supervision of ‘Hula Hulai Ohina’O mea Nani dance group, solo dance by Jenny Reyes who will be doing the Hawaiian wedding dance, fire dance by Jay Boncato from ‘Pure Aloha Hula’ group by Mary Tiguelo and The Sun Valley Foursquare Church Praise Hula team led by Hope Raymundo,
Special guest singer for this celebration will be Miguel Vera, who played the role of Thuy from the much acclaimed musical play, Miss Saigon.
YES! this will be a special evening of entertainment as well as having to experience a fabulous authentic Hawaiian cuisine. There will be many audience participation activities and drawing of the raffle tickets. Dancing will follow in the evening.
