 PHILIPPINE Airforce bet NM Ronald Llavanes and RP and US Chess master Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr. ended their six and final round matches into a draw and shared top honors at the conclusion of 7th leg of the 2009 Philweb–Human Plus National Executive Grand Prix Active Chess Championships, Group A on Saturday at the Human Resources Conference Room, Dept. of Agrarian Reform, Elliptical Road, Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City.

 The Bicol native Llavanes, playing under the baton of AFP Commanding General, Philippine Airforce LT. General Oscar Rabena took the title after edging Bernardino by a point in a tie break.

Bernardino, a radio commentator and sportswriter is a prodigy of LSGH chess head coach NM Erwin Carag.

 Call Center Agent Emil Chua has retained his Group B title after notching 5.0 points in six outings.

 Backed up by Philweb Corporation, NAPCA chief Boyet Tardecilla supervised the one-day event, organized by the Philippine Association of Chess Executives (PACE) and hosted by DAR Secretary Nasser Pangandaman, DARIE Director Nelia Manahan, DAREA President Nanette Pascual and DAR employee Lito Dormitorio.
