OAKLAND, CA—Filipinos for Affirmative Action (FAA) announces its new name, Filipino Advocates for Justice. We have also launched a new and improved website – www.filipinos4justice.org. After nearly 37 years, we felt we needed to choose a name that better reflected our vision, mission and commitment to social justice for all and our continued service to the Filipino community. For over two years, we engaged in an extensive process with help from key stakeholders.
Rest assured that we remain true to our vision and mission. We are still committed to serving the youth, newcomers and low-wage workers. We will continue to fight for social justice and advocate for policies that will address the challenges faced by our community. We will also continue to develop leaders and bolster the civic engagement of the Filipinos in the East Bay.
Our new website will allow Filipino Advocates for Justice to better communication more information about our programs, services and on-going campaigns. Some notable new features include redesigned program pages providing details about our many programs, particularly our Youth Development programs, a new Services section that helps connect our community with important resources and services; dedicated Research/Date pages that will provide information about the Filipino community; a new Search feature that will allow you to quickly find information and access archives.
The mission of Filipino Advocates for Justice is to build a strong and empowered Filipino community by organizing constituents, developing leaders, providing services and advocating for policies that promote social and economic justice and equity. We have offices in Oakland and Union City.
