The Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) is hosting a free Community Open House on Saturday and Sunday, June 26 and 27, 2010. The Open House will run from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday. “We’re so proud of our spectacular new airport, we want to show it off,” said David Vossbrink, Mineta San Jose Airport Communications Director.
This is everybody’s chance to come through the security checkpoint and experience this outstanding showcase of modern design and advanced technology first hand without buying a plane ticket. Airport officials encourage everyone to bring the whole family to join the festivities and find out for themselves the family friendliness of the new airport. The two days fun-filled event include tours, entertainment and several exciting travel prizes even await lucky visitors during the Open House. These include:
• Trip to Maui for a family of 4—air and hotel included—from Hawaiian Airlines and Prince Resorts Hawaii
• $1,000 travel vouchers from Delta/KLM/ Air France
• 2 tickets to any destination served by Continental Airlines
• $100. travel vouchers from Volaris
• and many more!

To reserve a ticket for this once-in-a- lifetime opportunity, go to the airport’s website www.sjc.org to select the specific day and time for your visit. The deadline for pre-registration to enter the airport during the Open House weekend is Wednesday, 23 June 2010. Fill in the required information for each visitor, including children. During the Open House, it will still be an operating airport, so the same security regulations that apply to passengers flying apply to the community open house visitors.
• When you pre-register, you will select a specific time for your visit.
• You will need to bring your registration confirmation for admission to the free parking area.
• You will get your “boarding pass” for your visit when you arrive at Terminal B for the open house.
• All guests will be required to go through security screening at Terminal B and must have a current government-issued photo I.D
“We encourage you to see for yourself- please take advantage of the opportunity at the Community Open House next weekend, June 26 and 27; Or even better, buy a plane ticket and take a trip out of SJC to enjoy the experience of the nation’s most modern airport,” said San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and Mineta San Jose International Airport Director of Aviation Bill Sherry.
