Last day for candidates to file nominating/supplemental petitions for the 2009

Los Angeles Interim City Clerk Karen E. Kalfayan reminds all candidates that the deadline to file Nominating and/or Supplemental Petitions for the March 3, 2009, City of Los Angeles Primary Nominating Election is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 for the following offices: Mayor, City Attorney, Controller, Member of Los Angeles City Council, Districts 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15; Member of the Board of Education for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Districts 2, 4 and 6; and Member of the Board of Trustees for the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), Seats 2, 4, 6 and 7.

Filing Fees and/or required signatures: All candidates must either pay a filing fee of $300 and submit valid signatures of at least 500 but no more than 1,000 registered voters within their districts, or waive the filing fee and submit valid signatures of at least 1,000 but not more than 2,000 qualified, registered voters within their jurisdiction and applicable districts.

The Office of the City Clerk - Election Division will be open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon). Please note our office has moved and we are now located at: Piper Technical Center, 555 Ramirez Street, Space 300, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
