Free education session on fraud issues and legal clinic on issues affecting seniors such as advance health care directives, power of attorney, and statutory wills.Presented by Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA); Asian Pacific American Legal Center (APALC), a member of the Asian American Center for Advancing Justice; and the Angelus Plaza Senior Activity Center. Anyone interested in these issues, but particularly older immigrants (assistance will be available in Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Tagalog and other languages). The event will be held on February 26, Saturday, 9am-12:30pm at the Angelus Plaza Senior Activity Center ,255 S. Hill St., 3rd Floor in Los Angeles.
From 9-10 am, there will be presentations on Elder Fraud Prevention by Felicia Yu, partner at Reed Smith LLP in Los Angeles, and Diane Vu, special agent with the US Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General. From 10 am–12:30 pm,
volunteer attorneys and law students will offer free legal assistance with completing Advance Health Care Directives (power of attorney of health care),Power of Attorney for Finance and Simple Statutory Wills. Please arrive 15 minutes early. To register
