Sick Caregiver – Feng Shui Case Study

CLAIRE recently called and told me that she’s called before, almost ten years ago. Though interested in a feng shui consultation, something always came up to prevent her from going through with it. Such was her karma. She’s known that something was wrong with her house, and although she moved out of it for a couple of years, she’s back in and things are again not going well. She feels sick all the time, has no energy, is depressed, and can’t seem to move forward in her career. Fortunately, this time she was able to have me come out as soon as possible.

Approaching her house, I could already tell from the front door being blocked by the garage and the two dead tree stumps on the left and right of her garage, that the people liv-ing here were likely to be weak, sick, and blocked by obstacles.

As I walked into the house, my suspicion was confirmed. A wave of nausea ran through me. The house smelled musty and moldy and it was hard for me to breathe. I had difficulty concentrating because the dis-comfort was so strong and had to ask Claire to open the doors and windows. Occasionally, I encounter a "house of sick-ness" such as Claire’s with very heavy yin energy.

The main door is in the north. I explained to Claire that she belongs to the Western Direction Pattern, and that a north door does not match her. Her personal energies belong to the southwest earth element, and the north door energies belong to the water element, which defeats her.

The southwest relates to her marriage, uterus, and hormones. The dead tree stumps in the north could lead to serious ailment, cancer, or death relat-ed to this house and those who live in it. Claire’s eyes opened wide, and she gets teary. She soberly told me that she has been diagnosed with uterine cysts and had a stillbirth while living in this house. Since then, her relationship with her hus-band has been strained and they sleep in separate rooms. Her job as a caregiver exhausts her. With-out respite, her health has gone downhill as has her husband’s.

Claire also wanted to be-come licensed and have the opportunity to be promoted to a better position, but she can’t seem to get any studying done because of her sickly health. Claire explained that she uses the southeast dining room to study because it has windows and is brighter. However, the southeast room is associated to the wood element and depletes Claire’s earth energies. It is no wonder that she tends to fall asleep or feels sluggish in the southeast.
