IN A recent case, the Bergamo’s - a family of three generations living under one - roof experienced first hand the cause and effect of compatible vs. incompatible feng shui among their family members. Without err, the laws of nature ran their course and family members fared accordingly in their rooms.
The Bergamo family consists of a mother, Lola, her two daughters, Cecil and Marge, her son Darwin, as well as Cecil’s husband Anthony and their daughter Zoe. Lola, Darwin, and Anthony all belong to the Western Direction Pattern, while Cecil, Marge, and Zoe belong to the Eastern Direction Pattern.
Their house faces east and sits west. Everyone except Lola uses the main door that faces east. The east front door is only compatible to bringing wealth for Cecil and Marge who are in fact the financial supports of the household. This east door does not bring in wealth for Anthony and Darwin who reveal they are still living with Lola because they are unable to generate enough income to move out. Though the east door is also incompatible with Lola, she parks in the northeast garage and uses the northeast entrance, which is compatible to her. She has had a stable job for over 17 years.
The main reason Lola called me to come and adjust the feng shui was her concern for her two-year-old granddaughter Zoe’s health. Zoe is sickly and frequents the emergency room. She belongs to the wood element and occupies the west master bedroom with her parents. The west room is associated to the metal element and therefore defeats Zoe’s wood element energies. She is prone to colds, rashes, and liver ailments. Zoe’s mother, Cecil, belongs to the fire element and is also incompatible with the west. She is prone to temper, exhaustion, and digestive ailments. Anthony confirms that it has been difficult for them.
Zoe and Cecil need to move out of the west room, but because there are no rooms available I advised Cecil to let Zoe nap in the southeast living room. Cecil eyes open wide as she tells me that when Zoe is fussy, they hang out in the living room where should falls asleep easily. If they must remain in the west room, they can use the water element to promote Zoe’s wood energies and drain the metal energies. Blue or gray colors, images of the ocean, rainbow obsidian crystals around their bed, and Chi Art for health all represent the water element.
Marge and Darwin are respectively in the northeast and north rooms, which are not compatible to them. Sleeping in the northeast room, Marge is prone to allergies and an unstable love life. Marge confirms that men come and go in her life and that she has chronic allergies. In the north room, Darwin tends to lack confidence, be unmotivated, and stagnant. With the Star 5 in the north this year, he may suffer job loss. Lola pointed a finger at Darwin, saying he spends too much time in his room playing games instead of developing his career. Blushing, Darwin admits he just lost his job.
Marge’s bedroom door is directly aligned to her bed, adversely affecting her health and relationships. Darwin’s bedroom door ias aligned to the back of his desk chair, creating an unstable career. I advised Marge and Darwin to switch rooms so that they could be supported in their compatible directions and to place their desks and beds out of alignment with the bedroom door. I also recommended colors, plants, and art that would promote them.
Finally, as we enter Lola’s room in the southwest corner of the house, I note that this is her compatible direction for health, and that her headboard is correctly positioned against a solid wall with the bedroom door to her upper left. She has the most ideal room. Lola always wondered why her children were so troubled and she was the only one who never got sick. She admits that although she is in good health, she is not getting any younger and she needs her children to become stabilized and not depend on her so much. The feng shui adjustments should help.
