It was a great honor for Jan Tan Kellner of Daly City to represent the Filipino housewives here in Northern California as the reigning Mrs. Republic of the Philippines-USA 2008 as ambassadress of friendship and goodwill to all our kababayans back home.
One of her major prizes in winning the prestigious title was the trip to the Philippines courtesy of Philippine Airlines. She was received with a red carpet reception by the Department of Tourism headed by Ace Durano.
Staying there for almost a month, Jane Kellner was given a series of welcome parties held in different Filipino hotels and restaurants, starting with a meet and greet hosted by Ricky Lo, entertainment editor of The Philippine Star, one of the leading newspapers in the Philippines. This was followed by a welcome party hosted by internationally known recording artist Jose Mari Chan at his executive suite at the Legaspi Tower in Makati.
Jane Kellner was also honored by Mrs. Huy Kun Lim, owner of Elianto Boutique and Arrow executive shirts in the Philippines. Another party was given for her by her alma mater, Philippine Chine Jin Nan Institute in Binondo where she graduated valedictorian in 1975.
Jane Kellner was also honored by Pastor Ted and Pastor Lawrence from the Jesus the Deliverance Church in the Philippines, and was invited as a special guest speaker by the Voice of Victory Church in Paranaque headed by Pastor Gerry Abi and Nannette Abi.
Another party was also given to our Mrs. RP-USA 2008 by Atty. Henry So and wife Elena Lim So, Antonio and Helen Ong, Dr. Ruben Gawki (surgeon), Dr. Willie Que (cardiologist) and Dr. Lily Sosuan (OB-Gyne) from Metropolitan Hospital.
Jane Tan Kellner is loved by all her friends, family and relatives, for she is not only beautiful from the outside, but also inside. She has a good heart in helping, caring and loving people. She sponsored poor students to college and a donor of the Bantay Bata Foundation where she and her children sponsored the Summer Fun Day excursion for 108 kids at the Bantay Bata Village in Bulacan. Jane and her family prepared food and gifts to bring smiles in the faces and hearts of these children.
Our reigning Mrs. RP-USA is also an active member of the Praise and Worship team at the Church of Highlands in San Bruno. Jane sings at the Sunday service on all three morning services. She is also a member of the Joyful Singers, a Filipino women’s choir group of the Church of Highlands that sings every third Saturday night service and during special events such as Easter and Christmas concerts at the Tanforan Mall in San Bruno.
During her trip to Manila, Jane Kellner also dropped by Elianto at The Block, SM City North EDSA to shop for items for her beauty regimen. Elianto is a cosmetics brand from Malaysia with makeup, skin care, body care and nail care lines made in Korea and Europe.
