Beauty queen-actress Jean Saburit, a resident of Pacifica, flew back to the Philippines to attend a gala fashion show on November 19, Thursday, at Rustan’s Department Sotre in Makati City. This fashion show is the grand launching of a new line of Italian bathrobe, Speziale Splendy – the lightest, most absorbent and fastest to dry bathrobes and other bath textiles. This product created by Emilio Minna, a citizen of Milan, Italy and is married to a Filipina, has mustered enough experience in the textile industry. This is why he thought of creating a robe that is lighter and more practical than the traditional one.
A former Binibining Pilipinas Young International winner, Miss Saburit will graze the television screen once again, with Christine Reyes in Eva Fonda, which will air on The Filipino Channel soon.
Miss Saburit, who has maintained her beauty figure and va-va-voom figure is all smiles when she talks about her only daughter, Nicole Jean Anderson, who is now doing very well at USF.
Miss Saburit was last seen in the Bay Area community scene when she attended the film launching for Golden Touch Production’s first venture, Diamond Heart, directed by filmmaker Perla Valencia. She was escorted by James Smith, a dashing corporate man from San Jose.
At the same event, the very active State Senator Leland Yee flew all the way from Hawaii to be the guest of honor. Sen. Yee even awarded Ms. Valencia a special certificate of recognition for her determination to empower Asian women in the field of filmmaking. Realtor-businessman Ramon Bunag of WOW Cargo and Club Royale first couple Gil Navarro and Jett Viray Navarro were also seen having a grand time at the event.

Bay Area Filipino fashion designer Crisanta Malig will present her Summer/Spring Collections via a series of fashion show-auctions on November 6 at Patio Filipino Restaurant in San Bruno and at Archipelago Bistro in Burlingame (date to be announced). Headlining the fashion show are Bay Area beauty queens like Mrs. RP-USA International 2007 Marilen Bernardo, Mrs. RP-USA International 2008, Judy Villar-Cayabyab and the reigning Miss RP-USA 2008 Desiree Sanchez.

Young comedian-dancer Vhong Navarro will delight his fans in a meet and greet at Roberto’s Fine Dining Restaurant on November 7. Vhong, fresh from his Star Cinema movie My Only U with Toni Gonzaga as his leading lady, will bring the house down again with his comic antics and his power dance routines in his special show, Supah Papalicious Live in Hayward on November 8 at the Chabot College Performing Arts Center. He will be joined by TV personality and actress Valerie Concepcion of Wowowee, funnyman Pooh and singer-comedienne K Brosas.
Miss RP-USA Talent 2008 and multi-lingual singer Angel Ventura will jam voices with Divo Bayer at the Divo and Friends concert on Saturday, December 8, at the South San Francisco High School Auditorium. Nineteen-year-old Angel who won Best in Talent at the recent Miss RP-USA contest, sings Italian aria, Spanish, Japanese, Tagalog and English hits. Her wondrous musical pipes are paving the way to a very promising singing career as she has joined and won a gamut of singing competitions all over California. So watch out Sarah Geronimo, Angel will soon be the next hot star of the music industry.
