I would like to send a special congratulatory note to David J. Canepa for being elected as Council member in Daly City last November 4.

Dave, who used to work as a legislative aide to Senator Leland Yee of San Francisco, was deeply inspired by Obama’s performance that he decided to join the race to the Daly City Council.

Dave made an early start in his campaign and the Filipino community supported him all the way by inviting him to almost every event in the Bay Area.  Charming, good-looking and armed with an endearing personality, Dave may be one of the youngest elected officials in the history of Daly City.  Everybody is now anticipating his great performance and synergy that the city needs today.

Seen in the community last November 9 at the Ichiban Library was the Bay Area premiere of Asian Dolls, a talented all-female group managed by Edna’s Ichiban Library owner, Ben Ramos.  The frontliner of Asian Dolls is sex goddess Patricia Javier (also known as Genesis).  Dusky and still showing that sexy body to die for, Patricia showed her other talents as a performer, for she can dance and sing to the delight of the audience.

The other members of the Asian Dolls are Trisha Badong, Shalimar Santiago, Noelle Bonus and British-Indonesian performer Sherlyn Santosa.  One of the members, Nova Parker, did not make it to the premiere because of a recent accident.

The Asian Dolls are ready to conquer the entertainment venues of the country including the military bases.  Their musical performance was received warmly by the limited guests invited by Edna’s Ichiban as they performed with stand-up comedian and casino entertainment host-singer Leonard Obal.

Joie d’vivre seems to be forced to prevail over the financial crisis in the Bay Area but the Filipino-American community still makes it a point that positive vibe is still in the air.  One of the main event and run-in center of all social entertainment events – Roberto’s Restaurant in Daly City – is hitting its first year anniversary.

Owned by a team of professionals consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Roberto Belmonte, Ric and Gwen Diaz, Dr. Ramon Ocampo and Mrs. Bernie Ocampo, Roberto’s Restaurant will have its big anniversary celebration on November 16, Sunday, at 6pm, with a dinner buffet.  Of course, they have come up with the best entertainment with popular performers like Jo Awayan, Divo Bayer, Dandin Ranillo, Jackie Castillejo, Poka and live music by Signature Band.
