Ruffa and Monet LuFirst of all, happy Valentine’s weekend to everyone out there who has ever loved. I’m sure that includes all of us. Restaurants, theatres and romantic hotspots all over the city are extra busy this weekend to cater to sweethearts celebrating each other. Please do enjoy yourselves.

This year, yours truly will be celebrating with dear friends. Here’s to love!

As of this writing, my dear friend Ruffa Gutierrez is back in Manila after stopping by a very hectic 48 hours here in LA.

Ruffa, as reported in recent entertainment news, is starting a new daily TV show with comedy queen Ai-Ai Delas Alas. This pairing is much anticipated because it blends the kikay sensibilities of a model and former beauty queen and the hilarious persona of the reigning queen of comedy.

According to Ruffa, her tandem with Ai-Ai is like Tyra Banks meets Ellen Degeneres. Let’s be sure to tune in nalang.

Ruffa’s LA visit this week was a busy one. She had to squeeze in all the important errands as well as a fun reunion with LA-based friends including yours truly.

L-R Weng, Ruffa, Congen Mary Jo Bernardo Aragon and MonetShe had to take care of some important papers at the Philippine Consulate General here concerning the dual citizenship of daughters Lorin and Venice. Immediatley after, she had to pick up a birthday present for her beloved dad Eddie and then on to meet with friends at the swanky SLS hotels in Beverly Hills.

Her first day in LA, we hung out at the Sky Bar on Sunset Blvd to catch up. While lounging by the bar, we were joined by a handsome gentlemen called John, a name that may or may not become famously linked to our dear Ruffa in the future. The juicy details will be covered by Hollywood entertainment writer Oliver Carnay. Again, stay tuned!
