Before we know it, summer will officially kick in and with it the warm temperature that most of us look forward to for all sorts of activities that we’ve been planning all year.

Wearing make-up can be a little inconvenient during a warm day. It often feels like adding a layer of clothing which can be uncomfortable at scorching temperatures.

Make-up also has the tendency to melt when it’s too hot outside. I know we want to avoid runny and sticky make-up as much as we can.

I recommend using a transparent primer before applying foundation. This primer will seal your pores and create a gap between the skin and the make-up. Make-up can stay on longer with a primer underneath to hold it steady.

Consider easing up on foundation during summer months. They say summer is the time to let the skin breathe from too much makeup. Bare skin is in, in fact.

You can still look great by focusing on eye make-up and applying brighter lipstick. This is the perfect time to make the eyes and lips pop.

It’s also beneficial to invest in heatproof make-up products. Look for foundation that’s oil-free and preferably with sun protection factor.

During the summer season, it’s also a good idea to try geltype blushes. These are the kind that can also be used as lip gloss or color. Usually, gels have stronger pigments and are designed to withstand heat.

I would recommend the same products for the eyes--gel-type eyeliners will work with you during a hot day. Cream eyeshadows are best for such temperatures as well.
