IN our community, there are people who stand out without meaning to attract attention but by simply being their true, magnetic selves.

I have to acknowledge Ms. Marilyn "Princess" Robertson for being one of those personalities. For nearly 30 years, I’ve been around her work as successful entrepreneur and philanthropist. I can relate to her because, like myself, she has struggled and dealt with many challenges to get to where she is now.

I’ve observed her to be a gentle, unassuming lady. She is open and gracious to everyone, especially to our kababayans.

As of now, my knowledge of her is mostly based on reputation--we have many common friends and all of them are quick to sing her praises. I believe that if you can inspire good reviews like that from all your friends, then you’re truly a winner in the way that counts.

Princess Robertson has countless achievements, as her colleagues in the business world can attest. She is cultured and well-traveled. And everywhere she goes, she represents us
Filipinos in the best light. It’s due to her well-mannered and elegant ways, which are actually the reasons behind her nickname "Princess."

According to Princess herself, it was the venerable Magsaysay clan who started referring to her as "Princess."

People who interacted with her, whether it be in the professional or social settings, noticed her unmistakably regal demeanor--in her speech, her gestures and the overall way she conducted herself.

The moniker spread on to her circle of acquaintances, business colleagues and friends such as former President Erap and so on.

I have to agree that Princess seems to have the bearing of a Royal, especially through her support of the arts and philanthropic endeavors.

I asked her what inspires her to continue the work she does and her answer was, "God."

She is also moved by passionate leaders who stand for integrity and public service, such as Senator Manny Villar.

She shared that Sen. Villar’s life journey is similar to her own.
From humble beginnings, success was achieved through perseverance and honesty. I couldn’t agree with her more!I consider Princess as one of our community’s most generous Patroness of the Arts. She has consistently supported efforts by our Fil-Am artists to showcase their work, such as designer Dave Tupaz, Celestial Beauties, TFC Star Magic concert, and countless more.

With everything that her incredible success has brought her, she has never forgotten to share her blessings.
