There’s something about Vicki

For every person out there who has thought about undergoing physical modifications because of, let’s just say, the “grace” of time, we’ve always had an ally in Dr Vicki Belo, Asia’s beauty ambassador.

I personally went about some changes with her expert advice. Thanks to her, people tell me that I look youthful. Dr Belo herself is the poster child for youthful beauty not only because she appears younger than her actual age but also because of her innocent, childlike spirit.

Despite her punishing schedule as medical director of the Belo Medical Group, she makes time for the things in her life that keep her young.

For someone who is always associated with glamour and elegance, I think people will be surprised to know that she is really easygoing. She can easily laugh at anything and everything.

Her eyes never fail to sparkle when she’s making kuwento about her children as well as her lovelife.

Dr Belo lives a glammed up life – gracing covers of fashion magazines, running her beauty empire and attending beauty summits all over the world. But every time I see her she remains the same, with her feet firmly planted on the ground.

She’s quick to poke fun at herself which makes me think that this is a highly accomplished woman who doesn’t take life so seriously.

Dr Belo has a very child-like maturity. She marvels at the simplest gestures or pleasures, like chocolates or buying books. I’ve been to her beautiful home in the Philippines and a huge portion of it is filled with books—a library of medical, marketing books and the classics.

I think hanging out and having fun with her two children—Quark, 27, and Cristalle, 24—keeps Dr Belo young. Her kids are so mabait and down-to-earth, parang hindi sila anak mayaman.

Another manifestation of Dr Belo’s child-like qualities is her eternal love for chocolates. This is a woman who’s on a constant diet. And yet, chocolates are her weakness. As a former aerobic instructor, she’s quite able to balance her love for chocolates with regular exercise.

So by embracing all of life’s simple pleasures and gifts, Dr Belo has remained youthful-looking and spiritually enriched. And it shows!

To you Dr Belo, thank you for serving as an inspiration. You are truly a beauty angel.
