LIU FENG Shui Grand View is the trademark philosophy developed by Grand Master Chi-Jen Liu. From decades of research and experience in feng shui and related studies, he has defined 130 factors that affect who you are.
These factors are energy forces that influence your well-being and success in life. They can affect you at any given time and their strength varies depending on your priorities, stage of life, way of life, and your awareness. The holistic consideration of all of these influential factors, or grand view perspective, gives you the ability to truthfully see yourself within the context of your life.
The 130 factors can be categorized into two types: 1) predestined and 2) adjustable. You have little control over the predestined factors that established the foundation of your life. The adjustable factors are more easily changed and developed to promote your well-being. Because everything is connected, when you improve one factor, you trigger a chain reaction that affects other factors and creates positive change in your life.
This article series on Grand View Feng Shui will reveal the 130 factors so that you can explore how these forces define and affect who you are. Hopefully, this awareness inspires you to make adjustments for the better.
Factor #27: Boss, co-workers, employees
There are several aspects in the workplace that affect who you are and your grand view feng shui. Those of you who work full time might note that you spend more time each day interacting with the people at work than with your family members at home. You might also note similar family dynamics in the workplace, which is helpful for understanding your work relationships and making them better.
For instance, the business owner or boss is like a parent figure that you ideally respect and take orders from. They often support you financially, so being in their good favor can have positive consequences. Your co-workers are like your siblings with whom you must get along whether you like them or not. If you are the business owner or boss, then your employees are like your children whom you must watch over, mentor, and support. Like your children at home, employees are your greatest investment and asset.
Your compatibility with your boss, co-workers, and employees is crucial to efficient productivity, success, and well-being in life. If everyone works well together and complements each others’ skills, you will find it is easy to communicate and understand each other. Projects are completed efficiently, everyone is happy, and the business runs smoothly.
If personalities clash at work, there is miscommunication and resentment. You might spend a lot of time fixing someone else’s mistakes, explaining yourself, and managing stress at work. The business as a whole suffers and everyone is affected. Your days will be trying and over time, this can have a negative effect on your health and self-esteem.
On a career compatibility level, if your boss is working in a compatible field and doing well, you benefit as their employee. Similarly, if your co-workers are compatible to their field, they are productive and you experience mutual rapport.
When co-workers are not compatible with their field they may be inspired only enough to do the bare minimum because they see their job as just a way to pay the bills. This lack of personal investment leaves you and others to compensate for the lack of productivity, making it harder for you to progress at work.
The competency level of your boss and co-workers also affects your well-being at work. For example, if your assistant or co-worker is slow and constantly asking questions, it can be hard for you to get your work done; or if your boss is unorganized and absentminded, it can be challenging to help their business grow.
Finally, there is the social aspect with those at work. A good balance of social energy in which there is friendly conversation creates a bond and comfort level among the people you work with. However, when the conversations turn to gossip or when romantic office relationships develop, it can be detrimental to the overall atmosphere and productivity of everyone in the work place.
It is important to understand the personal dynamics in the workplace and whenever possible, to situate yourself with compatible people or keep a comfortable distance from those who compromise your integrity. Increasing the quality of your relationships at work increases the quality of your life overall.
