These powerful tools have been passed down to us for generations. When interpreted correctly, they allow us to understand the cause and effect energies that occur during certain periods of time within the nine directions (eight cardinal directions plus the center) of the world, and help us to forecast events.
Due to the many associations of the Nine Stars and Five Elements, we are not able to provide all possible interpretations in this article series, however, we are providing the key interpretations for 2012.
South 6, 6, 1 - Masculine Movement
South America, Africa, India, Texas
Water Star 1 comes to the southern regions of South America, India, Texas, and Australia. This likely brings flash floods and water disasters, which can damage crops and cause a sudden shortage of food supply and increase food costs.
Because Star 6 is associated with manufacturing, transportation, commerce, and government/politics, problems related to these fields will arise. Transportation accidents, recalls, shipping problems, and equipment break down are also more likely to occur. Dams and canals may need repairs. This creates unexpected expenses for southern municipalities. Star 6 is also associated with the patriarch or male leader, so a double Star 6 indicates strong battles between candidates in southern regions.
Metal Star 6 enriches Water Star 1. This brings government support and private sector investments for industries such as technology, communications, shipping, and water systems, as well as spirituality and the mind empowerment movement. Star 6 also relates to import/export and trade. Star 6 stimulated by the water Star 1 indicates that more development, cultural exchange, and tourism projects will be starting, helping to fuel the economy with new jobs. This can bring more investors to southern regions like Africa.
Over 20-year Period 8, wood Star 3 in the south indicates that real estate values will rise. Scholarly and open-minded people will bridge cultural differences with technology and stimulate economic growth and advancements.
South America, Chile, San Diego, Hawaii
Wood Star 3 defeats the earth energies of the southwest. Star 3 is also associated with lawyers and legal documents indicating that civilians could be drained by legal problems, financial red tape, credit issues, or audits. Star 8 is conquered by wood star 4, meaning that Asian students, tourists, consumers, and investors bring wealth to the southwest by “absorbing” or purchasing services, goods, real estate, and businesses - especially in southern California. However, unfamiliarity with the documentation, permits, and licenses involved make it a challenge for these Asian businesses to establish themselves without getting into legal problems. Consequently, business increases for immigration lawyers. Banks and financial institutions in southwest regions undergo audits and restructuring and may be vulnerable to piracy, robbery, or Internet hacking. Analysts, accountants, and financial advisors continue to be in demand.
The conflicting earth and wood stars indicate rebellion and fighting between government officials and civilians - especially in regards to elections. Lawmakers and lawyers continue to take advantage of civilians - especially immigrants who are unfamiliar with the system. Lobbyists and female officials sponsored by civilians work hard, but paperwork wears them out and depletes their funding.
Related to thunder storms, Star 3 brings hurricanes, cloudy weather, and higher humidity to southwest regions. Even as harsh weather damages crops, agricultural developments increase and thrive.
Over 20-year Period 8, Stars 1 and 6, respectively associated with spirituality and academia, indicate that libraries and schools will be built or renovated. The alternative fields of feng shui, psychics, yoga, acupuncture, tai chi, herbal medicine, and intuitive arts continue to grow.
