(Part 1 of 5)
AS THE sun sets earlier and I pull on sweaters for the cool evenings, I can’t help but notice another year is coming to a close. The colors in my garden change and I am reminded that it is time to start making feng shui adjustments and plant the seeds I want to sow in the new year.
I’ve learned through gardening that timing is crucial to success. Nature teaches us that there is a time for everything in life. There are better seasons in which to plant seeds and trim back trees, and specific stages in a plant’s life when transplanting is most beneficial.
Understanding nature’s cycles, we can better synchronize ourselves with the ebb and flow of these energies. Like a surfer who knows how to catch a free ride by dancing with the rhythm of the waves, making the right feng shui adjustments at the right time propels your endeavors towards success.
Right now is the perfect time to start making feng shui adjustments for the upcoming Lunar New Year beginning on January 23, 2012. Awareness of what adjustments need to be made before the new year starts allows you to decorate accordingly for the holidays and select meaningful gifts for yourself, your friends, and your family. By adjusting your feng shui early, your catalysts will be ready to be activated and you can ease into the new year.
2012 is the Year of the Dragon and there has been great speculation as to what it holds for us. Every year, we analyze the Flying 9 Stars and the Yi-Jing to interpret the new year’s forecasts. This next series of five articles provide these forecasts so that you get an overview of what to expect in 2012 and the adjustments you can make in every direction of your home or office. These key insights allow you to make enlightened decisions.
Please note that these are general adjustments that apply to homes and offices on a north/south axis. The annual adjustments are more effective for clients whose existing feng shui has already been addressed in a feng shui consultation. Center – 2, 1, 6
The center energies of the Flying 9 Star chart provide an overview of what we can expect in all of our homes and offices.
Base Star 6 comes to the center in 2012. This star’s energy is associated with commerce, trade, business, advancements, and the power of patriarchal authority. Though these energies will not be at the height of their influence in 2012, it indicates a return of wealth to our homes and offices - especially for those who are educated or licensed in using up-to-date skills and technology. Business owners and newly hired people who replace older generation workers should enjoy stable or increased income this year.
Facing and sitting Stars 1 and 2 combined with Star 6 in the center indicate that wealth tends to come with conflict between the father and son or male boss and male staff. Unwillingness to compromise on both sides can cause a sudden health crisis for the elderly man, and blurred judgment for the younger man, which leads to making unwise decisions. Feminine earth Star 2 is associated with the female boss or mother. This energy defeats the energy of masculine water Star 1 indicating that female power dominates over male staff and family members.
Star 2 carries ailment energy, which can bring insomnia, accidents, or mental instability to men. Men should be aware of intestinal obstructions and constipation, while women need to pay attention to their reproductive system, liver, and potential injuries to the arms and legs. If you sleep in the center of your home, balance your health with sensible exercise and nutrition.
Adjustments for the center room or office:
To create balance, use metal to strengthen the water Star 1 energies that are defeated by the earth energies of Star 2. Metal can be applied as money spent on new equipment and technology, or on marketing and bonus incentives. These investments improve efficiency and profitability.
