EVERYTHING is in constant flux. Given time-lapse photography, you would be able to see how everything around you is constantly changing, growing, fading, dying, and being reborn again – a cycle of energy constantly changing phases. Similarly, your body is a growing, changing vessel of energy. In order to survive day to day, you need new energy from food, encouraging words, your family’s love, friends’ support, and the shelter of an environment that promotes you.

With today’s busy lifestyle, it is easy to take for granted the profound effect your environment has on your well-being. Few people have the time to maintain their living environment properly, usually waiting until something goes wrong before fixing it. Your environment needs to be cleaned, refreshed, and adjusted to accommodate the constantly transforming circumstances of your life. Feng shui is the art and science of creating an environment that harmonizes with your own unique, personal energy to attract favorable conditions in multiple aspects of in your life. One year, you may want to focus on your career development. Once your career is stable, you may want to focus on your health, ignite a new relationship, or rekindle an existing one. Your personal relationships take on a similar dynamic to your environmental relationship.

It takes effort to maintain good health, a successful career, a loving relationship, as well as to create a healing environment. Just as you cannot expect one hour at the gym to ensure your long-term health, you cannot expect that making feng shui adjustments only once will give you peace, harmony, riches, and love forever. The secret to a happy and successful life is being able to achieve balance between career, health, and relationships as you progress from one stage of life to another. In order to do this, your environment needs to progress with you.

Each one of you has a unique life path and is at a different level in your life. The key is to make feng shui adjustments that are compatible to you and appropriate for your circumstances and your goals. If you can barely afford to pay your bills, it does not make sense to run up your credit card and buy an original Chi Art painting. You can benefit by making changes within your home through furniture placement, color, and placing specific elements correctly. I have seen progress at every level of feng shui adjustment.

By the same token, if you can afford an original Chi Art, yet expect to double your profits within a multi-million dollar corporation with only furniture placement and crystals, it is unlikely these lower level adjustments will provide the impetus needed to garner the energy required to support your goal. There’s a saying: you can’t catch a whale with a fishing pole. You attract what you put out.

Another crucial aspect of success is timing. Cosmic energies constantly shift and affect your energy. On a practical level, it is vital to be aware of these annual cycles so that you can adjust accordingly. Just like planting seeds, if your timing is wrong, you will not reap a harvest. If you are blind to these cycles, you set yourself up for unnecessary obstacles and miss opportunities.

The 2010 global and home/office forecast will be presented in the upcoming articles and will also be available at Liu-FengShui.com. I will explain the global energy patterns and present the positive or negative directions for your home/office. General tips for activating the energies for prosperity, health, and love, and releasing loss, conflict, and ailment will be provided.

When you make personalized annual feng shui adjustments, you will be one step ahead of the crowd. Get your adjustments early to avoid the holiday rush so that you can set up your home and office to attract wealth, promotion, love, good health, and scholarship in 2010.
