SOUTH – 8, 8, 3
Texas, Brazil, Africa, Hong Kong
Star 3 relates to springtime and supports the inherent fire energies of the south. In spring 2010, philosophers and spiritual writers share their knowledge to awaken humanity. Their teachings bring hope, happiness, and new ideas that stimulate the economy. Females are especially strong in their career achievements. Fields related to fire, such as beauty, fashion, art, food, and expos, thrive in the southern regions.
Double Star 8 shows real estate is going back up in the south. Marketing and sales also increase. Female real estate tycoons, construction companies, and developers thrive. Consumption goods and agriculture improves.
The "3 Sha" or "Three Defeating Energies" are also in the south this year. This, along with Star 3 being out of cycle with Period 8, can bring obstacles related to difficult legal or political issues. Progress is made, but not without struggle.
Southeast - 3, 4, 7
Florida, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia
The aggressive metal Star 7 defeats the wood energies of the southeast. Natural resources in southeastern regions may suffer from drought and be depleted. There may be forest fires, air crashes, rebellion, or violence. Competition between female businesses, as well as demonstrations and social demands increase. Star 7 also relates to surgical weight loss procedures and alternative healing trends. These economic sectors fare well in the southeast in 2010.
Sitting and facing Stars 3 and 4, which are out of cycle, indicate that miscommunication and bad decision-making might cause conflicts among the work force. There are likely to be storms or hurricanes in southeast regions.
East – 2, 5, 6
United States East Coast, Europe, Shanghai
The wood energies of the east are defeated by the metal energies of Star 6. Star 6 also relates to the west. One interpretation of this is that China (east) and the United States (west) are in conflict. A lack of appreciation and compromise will result in a stalemate in which both sides lose. The east energies are also related to the liver and toxins, which are vulnerable to the Star 6 metal energies. In emulating the West, Far East regions likely suffer the side effects of pollution and the political and social stress that an industrialized and capitalistic lifestyle often brings.
