Introducing guide to a harmonious 2009

Feng shui and related areas of study are vast, complex, and fascinating topics. Though feng shui has been practiced for thousands of years, there are many people who have lots of questions. These questions prompted my writing the Liu Feng Shui Guidelines series, which started in 2008. The next few articles contain an introduction to the guidelines series, as well answers to the most popular questions we get concerning feng shui and the annual forecasts.

Q: What inspired you to start the Liu Feng Shui Guidelines series?

A: My father, Grand Master Chi-Jen Liu, and I have been making annual feng shui adjustments for clients for many years now and find we can’t get to everyone before the next year starts again! Though we prefer the personal touch of working with our clients one-on-one, it is important to help as many people as we can. There is too much needless struggle due to ignorance out in the world. With the current economy, we feel that if more people are aware of how to use feng shui to their advantage and create positive change in their lives, the greater contribution they will bring to the whole of humanity.

About 99 percent of houses in the United States are not built according to feng shui, and are therefore imbalanced and unsupportive. This imbalance is reflected in the compromised health, education, morale, families, and economy of our country as a whole.

In this new Millennium there is evidence of a new spiritual awakening. My father, my family, and I believe that those who desire to live better lives and be a positive attribute to society will seek out the knowledge to do so, and will be led to the right resources. We are inspired by this to be a knowledgeable, experienced resource, and to provide the opportunity to learn. Thus, we are publishing the forecasts each year so that more people can benefit from feng shui.

Another purpose of the guidelines is to let everyone know how important it is to make annual feng shui adjustments. I think a lot of people are aware of feng shui right now, but they don’t realize that feng shui is not something you do only once. Just like you need to eat well, get enough sleep, and exercise every day to maintain good health, you cannot expect that making feng shui adjustments only once will bring you harmony forever. You need to make annual adjustments because the universal energies change every year.

Although feng shui is better when done on a personal level with a feng shui master, we have found that there are things everyone should be aware of each year and basic annual adjustments that can be made to promote harmonious living. The Guide to a Harmonious 2009 provides this information.

Q: What information is included in the Guidelines?

A: The book is divided into four key parts. The first part is an introduction, giving you just enough information in layman’s terms about the key concepts that were used to derive the forecasts: the Nine Star Charts, The Five Elements, the Ba-gua, and feng shui.

The second part is the global forecasts, telling you of significant events that will likely take place in the different regions of the globe.

The third part – the heart of the book - is the home and office forecasts. Here you will find what energies will occur in different directions of your home and office, and how these energies might affect you. Also included in this section are a variety of adjustments you can make to enhance your wealth, relationships, and well-being.

The fourth and most entertaining part of the book I know all of you will look at first is the zodiac forecasts. Based on your birth year, you belong to one of the twelve animals of the zodiac. The zodiac forecasts give you an overview of your coming year and what to watch out for. Again, personalized adjustments are included such as what colors to wear, and what stones and jewelry you need to use to promote your health, wealth success, and love.
