On Dating

(0 votes, average: 0 out of 5)
This week is going to be about dating.  I received a letter asking for advice in regards to dating.  How can one tell when a guy is serious about a relationship or just interested in having fun? Hard question and it indeed got me thinking.  The answer is – you won’t know.  However, there are pit falls that you can avoid.  So here goes:

After a few months of dating, he’s/she’s pressuring you to do thing that you do not want to do.

He’s/She’s interested to know things about how much savings you have in your bank account or how much you make.  He/she is more interested in your money.

He/she only spends time with you when it’s convenient.

He/she does not take you to meet his friends, co-workers or family.

He’s/she’s not consistent.   Call you or visits you occasionally only.

He/she’s constantly argues with you when you express your opinion.

Does not want to tell you his/her where about.  He does not involve you in his/her affairs.

You’ve caught him/her lying.

These are just some.  However, my advice is to meet or date someone that was referred to you by a trusted source.  Do not go out with strangers and fall through the trap of trusting someone after a few months or a few dates only. This holds true for friends or boyfriends/girlfriends. Do not be afraid to loose the person just because you do not give in to their wishes.  A true friend will understand and will wait for your decision at your on pace or time.  Take it easy and do not feel bad.  If in case this person does not understand you—you will find someone who will.  Just be patient.  Remember to also pray for guidance.  I’ve always told myself that if everything fails, ask god to show you the way.  Sometimes, we don’t like the answer but most of the time—he has great reasons.  We just need to give it our outmost attention when the answer is not the one we want.  Do not be sad also.  Actually, you should be happy because his saving you from committing a mistake.  I hope this weeks article is able to help everyone who is seeking to date from age 20 to 70 or older.  Remember, there’s no age limit when it comes to dating.

Next weeks’ article is how to keep your relationship interesting and fun even if you’ve been married or dated for over 4/5 years.  For those interested on a topic, please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
