Another reason for me to recommend new hair looks.

I should start by addressing common hair problems whenever summer comes around. As they say, high temperatures bring about frizz issues.

To defy frizz, the number one rule is to get your regular haircut to get rid of split ends that can make frizz look worse.

In a season defined by outdoor activities such as swimming in the beach or at the pool, you have to remember to wash hair immediately.
Salt and chlorine can make hair dry and frizzy-ness worse.

Don’t discount the use of hats to protect your hair from direct heat.

Also, rinsing hair with cold water after showering can help cuticles stay flat.

Using anti-frizz gel may also help your cause. But choose your product wisely.

When you have frizz under control, you might want to think about hair color. In my expert opinion, most Asian women look flattering in shades of browns or reds.

Since summer is all about the great outdoors, rich and dark colors complemented with golden highlights will make you picture-perfect for frolicking at the beach or al fresco picnics at the park.

I recommend warm shades that bring depth and dimension to a rich auburn base, topped with highlights.

There’s also room in this fun summer hair color season for burgundy, strawberry blond, as well as copper brown.

But don’t be too attached to the names, as the best way to pick a color that suits your skin tone is to consult with a hair professional.

At Monet
Salon, we are staffed with professional colorists who can match your skin tone with the hair color that flatters.
