Lastweekend, the Fil-Am entertainment scene was all abuzz about the historical tandem of two concert giants Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera.
When Starmedia Entertainment first announced this unique, powerhouse offering in Los Angeles, there was irrepressible excitement among live concert-goers!
Tickets to the concert were sold out in a flash and people who could not get tickets were really clamoring for it.
On concert night last Oct. 17, the crowd did not disappoint. The venue, Pasadena Civic Center, was jam-packed from the outside all the way in.
Indeed, the crowd showed up in full force to support their venerable idols and so did the headline male artists who gave a tour de force performance.
I was there. From start to finish, the concert was exhilarating and refreshingly entertaining.
Comedy Concert King Martin Nievera was his usual pilyo and makulit self in stark contrast to Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano’s polished but witty demeanor.
The combination was explosive and highly delightful to watch. What they have in common is beautiful gift of song and captivating stage presence.
Martin and Gary each brought their years of experience successfully entertaining people all over the world into the As One concert.
To be honest, wala pa akong nakikitang papalit sa galing nina Martin and Gary in terms of being the elite, crowd-pleasing concert kings in Philippine entertainment. What they have to offer is rare.
Speaking of rare, it also takes a special kind of talent to be able to tastefully showcase top artists like Gary and Martin.
