Charice to grace Handog ng FASO sa Pasko

Fresh from her most successful 10-city concert tour with David Foster and Friends, international sensation Charice o will be the special guest in the Christmas concerto, Handog ng FASO sa Pasko. Said to have more individual fans than the other artists in David Foster and Friends, Charice has been referred to by Oprah Winfrey on her September 9 show as "The Most Talented Girl in the World."

Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco was born May 10, 1992 and rose to popularity through YouTube. She started competing in amateur singing contests since she was seven and finished third place in ABS-CBN’s Little Big Star when she was 13. Two years later, one of her fans started posting videos of Charice’s performances onto You Tube. The videos garnered millions of hits making Charice an internet phenomenon. She got invitations to sing in Stockholm, Sweden and in South Korea where she won in a talent show Star King. After seeing her performance on YouTube, Ellen Degeneres featured Charice on her show. A few months later, Charice was invited to guest at the The Paul O’Grady Show in London, England. Oprah Winfrey then put Charice in her show and recommended that music producer David Foster take the young singer under his wing. Foster was so impressed with Charice that she has been a part of his concert tours since last year.

Handog ng FASO sa Pasko Presents Faso’s Christmas concert features Children’s choir

With the success of the Filipino-American Symphony Orchestra (FASO) Gala Night Performance held last May 17, 2009, the orchestra will have a follow-up performance on December 6 (Sunday), 5:00 pm at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

Spearheaded by the Asian Journal Foundation, Inc., the concert is dubbed Handog ng FASO sa Pasko or "FASO’s Gift for Christmas."
