AFTER more than 18 years of serving the Filipino-American community, the Asian Journal Publications has launched another avenue of service to the Filipinos through the Asian Journal Foundation, Inc. Today, October 21, the website of the Foundation opens at www.asianjournalfoundation.com.
Founded by Roger and Cora Oriel, the Asian Journal Foundation is a non-profit organization in the US that aims to promote Filipino culture through arts and music.
The goal of Filipino artists must be to maximize their full potential and showcase their God-given talents to inspire and benefit the world. Our challenge at Asian Journal Foundation is to give to these Filipino artists the support they need to reach these goals
Our Vision
Despite the artistic diversity and talent that can be found in the Philippines, aspiring artists find little support. The Asian Journal Foundation is dedicated to promoting Filipino arts, supporting Filipino musicians, and encouraging the development of young artists who want to maximize their full potential and showcase their God-given talents to inspire and benefit the world.
Our Mission
The long-term mission of the Asian Journal Foundation is to promote Filipino culture through arts and music. Our work will concentrate in three areas, namely: (1) sustain the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra (FASO), the first and only one of its kind in America, (2) provide educational scholarships to underprivileged but deserving Filipino students in the Philippines who want to enter the fields of journalism or communications, and (3) build a Balikbayan Museum and Library in the Calabarzon area in the Philippines, which is envisioned to be one of the area’s must-see tourist destinations.
Our Logo
The Asian Journal Foundation seeks to bring harmony to the community. Bearing the colors of the Philippine flag, our insignia stands for patriotism. The three quills symbolize art, journalism, and music. We use the colors of the Philippine flag to connote nationalism. The quills were formed together into a flame to represent passion and love of country. These are the simple things we stand for as we continue to celebrate and generate appreciation and love for Filipino culture and the arts.
Readers are invited to visit the "home" of Asian Journal Foundation at www.asianjournalfoundation.com and learn more about how we can promote our culture through arts and music. Let us help our Filipino artists maximize their full potential and showcase their God-given talents to inspire and benefit the world. After all, each Filipino’s success is his countrymen’s pride and honor. (AJPress)
