Sharon: God has blessed me with so much. Ican’t ask for more. Ijust want peace, peace in heart and mind, and good health.
Does she plan to enter politics?
Sharon: No, my heart and my mind may be okay with that, but my spirit is afraid. Besides, Ithink Ican be more effective in my own way in show business. It’s actually a bigger stage. Like Oprah said about her job, she can reach out to more people from her seat. What will be her role when Kiko runs for higher office in 2010?
Sharon: There will be no change in my present roles – I will still be active in my career. For someone or something to take that away from me is very unwelcome. Of course, as his wife and the mother of his children, I will be where Kiko goes. I will be campaigning for him.
What makes her happy?
Sharon: My children. Reading, learning, watching movies on DVD. I don’t want to stop learning that’s why I am back in school –in UP Open University but I’m taking my time there. My TV show also makes me happy. Our operative word is to entertain, to inspire and to give hope. How is she after thirty years in showbiz?
Sharon: I’m in a good place now. At this stage in my career, I can take whatever comes my way. There are very few detractors now. I know you can’t please everybody so I’d rather focus on those people who appreciate my work. Graduate na ako sa intriga.
After 30 years, I still get nervous before a show.
What does she consider her greatest success?
Sharon: My biggest success is being a mother three times over.
What are her future projects?
Sharon: I have just recently released my new album entitled Children’s Rhymes & Lullabies. It’s a 2 CD set album featuring a collection of English and Tagalog songs, which Filipino parents can play for their children and their children’s children. She will be a bigger star than me."Best advice she has received from her mother?

What are her plans for the future?
Sharon: Three times, I’ve thought of retiring but every time, something happens that shows it’s not God’s will yet. Ayaw pa niya. So, I just take my cue from what God throws in my way. I will be here for as long as my fans want me.
KC: "I take it day by day. I’m open to whatever God gives me. I really don’t plan what I’ll be doing next year. That’s what my managers do for me. I know I’ll still be busy in show biz and in my UNwork. But politics is not in my plans. Showbiz is politics enough. And of course, as a young woman, I also look forward to having a family of my own in the future."( Published on July 13, 2009 in Asian Journal Los Angeles p. B1 )
