During the presscon of TV5’s Valiente on January 31, Oyo Boy was asked to comment on the relationship between his dad and his girlfriend, actress Pauleen Luna. Personally, he said that he didn’t “approve” of the relationship, but that he would accept whomever his dad loves. According to Oyo Boy, he and dad Vic don’t usually talk about their romantic life and that they don’t create issues on the matter. However, he clarified that this doesn’t mean that they don’t come across issues, but that within the family unit, these issues don’t mean anything.
People are surprised that Oyo Boy has been vocal about his disapproval of his father’s current relationship, whereas he was very quiet and low key in the past. But people close to the actor know that this is who Oyo Boy really is—expressive.
Oyo Boy and Pauleen haven’t seen each other since after the beginning of his father’s relationship but he doesn’t mind bumping into her. He said that he isn’t mad at Pauleen, nor does he have any ill feelings toward her.
As a matter of fact, Oyo Boy has made it clear that he has the utmost respect for her as a person.
Oyo’s mom, Dina Bonnevie kept mum about her son’s “disapproval” of Vic’s relationship with Pauleen Luna. Oyo Boy is also confident that his mother fully understands where he is coming from regarding the issue.
On a side note, when Dina Bonnevie was asked by Pep.ph on her thoughts of Vic Sotto’s new relationship, she expressed her hopes that he would find a partner whose age is closer to his.
Dina believes that he’ll be happier that way.
