“Miss Saigon” in theaters this Thursday, Sept. 22 for one-day screening!

If there is any international theater production in the world that has had Filipinos front row and center as part of the cast, It is Cameron Macintosh’s “Miss Saigon.”

And this week, “Miss Saigon” celebrates its 27th anniversary. It’s been 27 years since the original production of “Miss Saigon” first opened at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London!

Lea Salonga, as we know, garnered a Tony Award for best actress & a Laurence Olivier Award for her role as Kim. I recently had Jon Jon Briones on “Kababayan Today” this week and he spoke about how he has been with “Miss Saigon” as an ensemble cast member when he first started his “Miss Saigon” journey! He makes his Broadway theater debut next year as it opens in New York City. So many countless Filipinos have been given an opportunity to be part of the what some call, “The Greatest Musical of All Time.”

This Thursday, September 22, however, you can watch it if you have never seen the highly acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg’s legendary musical, MISS SAIGON: 25th ANNIVERSARY PERFORMANCE, to select cinemas nationwide for an extraordinary one-night event.

“Captured live in front of a sold-out audience at London’s Prince Edward Theatre, this epic love story tells the tragic tale of young bar girl Kim, orphaned by war, who falls in love with American GI Chris – but their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon. Audiences will be mesmerized by the extremely talented cast of Jon Jon Briones as The Engineer, Eva Noblezada as Kim, Alistair Brammer as Chris, Hugh Maynard as John, Tamsin Carroll as Ellen and Rachelle Ann Go as Gigi. Plus, this special event features a finale of epic proportions with appearances from the original cast, including Jonathan Pryce, Lea Salonga and Simon Bowman,” as publicized by Fathom events.

There is also an epic finale featuring special appearances from original cast members Jonathan Pryce, Lea Salonga and Simon Bowman. Check your theater listings and get tickets for tomorrow!
