Mission Statement:

We, the alumnae/alumni of the Assumption, residing outside the Philippines, are committed to lead others and live according to the ideals of the Assumption by:

*cooperating with the Assumption congregation and fellow alumnae/alumni in human development initiatives;

*supporting each other in our spiritual and personal growth; and

*forging closer ties among us.

 The Assumption Alumnae Association Abroad NY’s current vision is encapsulated in the word "AMEN".  AS ASSUMPTION TOGETHER, we started  the  year with the New York premier screening of the film Boses through which, we aimed to raise  the community’s Awareness about social issues affecting children and show how we can Make a difference in their lives by raising funds to support advocacy groups with a mission to Educate and Nurture Christian values in everyone.  We forge ahead with our ‘Amen " vision ever mindful of the words of St. Marie Eugenie, the foundress of the Religious of the Assumption:  " We must nourish our light  in order to give light."

To this end, our next activity will be the LAY formation sessions led by our advisors, Sr. Loreto Mapa  and Sr. Cecilia Hervas, which will focus on a broad understanding of the Assumption:  its history, its spirituality and its work of transformation through education.  This program will also provide familiarity with Friends of the Assumption:  its role in the partnership with the Sisters of the Assumption in the work of making this earth a place of glory for God.
