Your search is finally over.  The Asian Journal  brings you Re:Union, Filipino American Associations in America -- your link to a network of kababayan associations here in the United States. Samahang Pilipino at UCLA

History of Samahang Pilipino

SAMAHANG Pilipino is a multi-faceted student organization which addresses the specific needs of the Pilipino community of UCLA and the greater Los Angeles area. Since 1972, Samahang has been committed to addressing five key aspects of Pilipino life: cultural, social, political, academic, and community. Samahang remains a family away from home and a bridge to our cultural roots.

From Christine Corrales, Samahang Pilipino President 2006-2007:

Since then, Samahang Pilipino has developed from a small social space for Pilipino students at UCLA into a powerful mobilizing force addressing the needs of the Pilipino community both on and off campus. By emphasizing the social, political, academic, cultural and community issues relevant to the Pilipino community, Samahang Pilipino seeks to holistically develop and empower general members to become leaders in advocating for positive change in the community.
