THE Philippine American Bar Association (PABA) is the Southern California based bar association formed to meet the professional, legal and social needs of the Filipino-American community. PABA sponsors legal clinics on various areas of the law. PABA also provides continuing legal education, professional development, networking opportunities and social events for its members. In addition, PABA assists Filipino-American law students through its scholarship fund and mentorship programs. Finally, PABA strives to be a leading advocate on matters affecting Filipino-Americans and to increase Filipino-American participation and representation in the legal profession.
Committees:
Advocacy
The Advocacy Committee considers current issues affecting our community such as the recent Amicus briefs filed on the Prop 8 Issue. The Committee discusses PABA’s role and support of these issues.
Community Outreach/Pro Bono
The Community Outreach/Pro Bono committee is our liaison to our community and pro bono needs. PABA participates in clinics and other pro bono ventures each year.
Endorsement Committee
The Endorsement Committee considers candidates running for office seeking PABA endorsements and discusses whether PABA would like to support that person.

Social Committee
The “social” committee assists our SRC in planning the many Happy Hours and other social events throughout the year.
Student Relations Committee (SRC)
The SRC fosters our relationship with our students and young attorneys. The SRC considers the scholarship applications we give each year, plans our career night and many other event throughout the year!
