Profile/history
Mabuhay Alliance, Inc., a San Diego based nonprofit organization, was founded with the purpose of enhancing the quality of life of the Filipino-Americans and other Asian and Pacific Islander communities by providing members with networking opportunities and access to resources that are not attainable as a single entity and benefit the community. Its mission is "to be the preferred conduit of economic development, through technical assistance between the government, corporations and minority groups in California." Since 2004, Mabuhay Alliance has worked towards greater representation of minority groups, provision of stable funding, and the development of great relationships with corporate partners and good alliances by providing programs that empower them.

Programs
Micro-Business Technical Assistance Program
Mabuhay Alliance, Inc. assists minority entrepreneurs by educating small, minority businesses to compete, sustain, financially savvy, and poise them to do business with Corporate America. Our (MTA) program is designed to provide "Micro-Business Owners" with step by step "how to" training and skills to make the transition from being an effective business manager to a successful small business owner. Upon completion of the program, participants will earn two college credits at the University of San Diego.
Alternative Micro-Lending
Our micro loans start from $500 to $25,000. So far have given over $65,500 to seven minority-owned businesses since October 2007.
Financial Literacy
The program includes lessons on identifying your financial DNA, creation of wealth and the millionaire mind, saving thousands of dollars with a high FICO score, do’s and don’ts of owning your first home, and so much more!
Volunteer Income Tax Preparation Program
This program offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income individuals who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Certified volunteers receive training to help prepare basic tax returns.
First-Time Home-buying Program
Designed to educate both first time and repeat buyers, connect them with an agent, partners with escrow and title services, and to other nonprofit organizations for counseling prospective borrowers who are not yet mortgage ready.
Foreclosure Prevention Workshop
Low Income Efficiency Program- Provides qualified low-income households with
energy efficient appliances and weatherization measures at no cost to the participants.
Supplier Diversity
We are engaged in developing pilot programs to give small minority- businesses a chance to compete with larger companies and are given an actual contract from the big corporations.
Annual Economic Development Conference and Dinner
Served 1,000 individuals each year since 2004
