The scholarship program for the economically disadvantaged but deserving students started 18 years ago and has benefited 20 college graduates. At the present time, there are 37 students receiving scholarships from the association. These students have to maintain a certain grade average in order to remain in the program. Missions like medical and dental, used clothes and food for the needy were sponsored by the PaniqueniansUSA, Inc. Deep wells were constructed in all of the town’s 35 elementary schools so that children will have clean drinking water.
