THE housekeeper of the famous talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres is now on television. Luzviminda Casimiro, better known as “Mindy” to her friends now has a regular TV Segment on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
It all started late last year, 2010, when Ellen DeGeneres asked Mindy if she wants to watch movies especially in DVDs. When Mindy responded to Ellen that she would enjoy that very much Ellen gave her a bunch of DVDs that include The Black Swan, Inception, The King’s Speech, True Grit, Social Network, Toy Story 3 and 127 Hours. Ellen told Mindy to watch the movies and let her know later what she thinks about them.
Mindy was surprised since all the movies were newly-released and not yet available on DVD. After several days, Ellen told Mindy a TV crew is coming to interview her about the movies she watched. Ellen advised Mindy to just be herself and to tell the TV crew whatever she thinks of the movies that she have previewed.
Earlier this year, 2011, a few weeks before the Oscar Awards Night, Ellen DeGeneres presented to the public the first Television appearance of her housekeeper, Mindy, in a segment called Mindy’s Movie Minute. The segment features Mindy talking about movies she previewed. The idea was an instant success and has become a popular segment to the ever popular Ellen DeGeneres Show. Mindy was an instant celebrity to her friends. The success of this segment did not stop there. It was followed by Mindy’s Reality Roundup, where Mindy discusses reality shows like Survivor, The Real Housewives, Jersey Shore and 30 Best and Worst Beach Bodies.
Mindy, is a pure blooded Filipino, who came all the way from Tarlac, Philippines. She is married to Joel or “Boyet” Casimiro. Both are employed by Ellen DeGeneres for almost four years now. They are the so called “encargado” of the house, Boyet as a driver and who take care of the private car and commercial truck. Mindy is the one in-charge of maintaining the house clean. Together, they attend to some chores that Ellen sometimes tells them to do. Mindy and her husband, Boyet is not new working with this kind of celebrities. Before working with Ellen, they used to work with the producer of Will and Grace.
