RIVERSIDE – Katipunan PSO, an organization composed of Filipino American students at the University of California, Riverside, has announced that its annual Philippine Culture Night (more popularly known as “PCN”) will be donating 100% of the profits to Bantay Bata, an ABS-CBN Foundation social welfare program dedicated to aiding abused and exploited children. The show is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the California Theatre of Performing Arts in San Bernardino at 562 W. 4th St., San Bernardino, CA 92401.The cultural show, entitled “One Fall,” is the 20th show that Katipunan has produced. It features a play interlaced with cultural folk dances, written, directed, and choreographed entirely by students. The aim of the night is to entertain and educate the audience about Philippine culture through performance arts and theatrical interpretations of popular as well as lesser known dances.
The show is a one-night-only production, with ticket prices set at $15 at the door. In previous years, the show has filled upwards of 800 theatre seats.
