The Oakland Raiders will honor the Filipino American community in celebration of Filipino Heritage Month when they face the New York Jets at the McAfee Coliseum on Sunday, October 19.

"We are pleased to salute Filipino Heritage and add a new tradition to our ever increasing commitment to our global and multicultural fans," said Raiders Chief Executive Amy Trask.

"The Philippine Consulate General urges all Filipinos in the Bay Area to come, join and take part in the inaugural Filipino Heritage Game with the
Oakland Raiders," said Philippine Consul General Marciano Paynor. "Let us take pride in our Filipino heritage. Aside from promoting the Philippines to the mainstream audience, we will be able to contribute to local community and youth organizations. We hope to see our kababayans (community neighbors) gather at the game."

The Oakland Raiders are collaborating with the Filipino American Arts Exposition, West Bay Multi-Service Center, the Philippine Children's Fund, Manilatown Heritage Foundation and CW Marketing Solutions in support of the local Filipino youth and community.

The first 1,000 general game tickets purchased online at www.Raiders.com/FilipinoHeritage with the password FILIPINO will be given a limited edition Raiders Filipino Heritage Game hat. Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to contact the Raiders directly at 1-800-RAIDERS to inquire about special benefits and be recognized on the giant scoreboard.

Check out their TV commercial now playing on the event’s media partners, The Filipino Channel and MYX TV.
