FROM the bottom of my hear, I would like to extend my holiday greetings to all my readers who have loyally followed my column here in Asian Journal for nine years.
A few days from now, it will be Christmas again, and all over the world, families will be celebrating this day following old Filipino traditions. These traditions include the Simbang Gabi, the Noche Buena after hearing the midnight Mass, family reunions and exchanging gifts.
Also part of our tradition, the Filipino dining spread is filled with sumptuous food like lechon, hams, queso de bola, pancit, morcon and relleno; as well as many delicacies such as bibingka, puto bumbong, leche flan, ensaymada and many others.
However, setting aside gifts and fiesta food, Christmas is a special time to be with the people closest to our heart—relatives, family, close friends and even with newly found acquaintances.
Let us fill this season with the spirit of hope, love and sharing, as we welcome Christ’s birth!

She may have portrayed tough roles in the past, but Anne Curtis deemed that the biggest challenge she’ll venture into is her first major solo concert on January 28, 2012 at no less than the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The concert entitled, Annebisyosa No Other Concert World Tour—obviously inspired by her smash movie with Cristine Reyes and Derek Ramsey, No Other Woman—will be directed by Rico Gutierrez, with musical direction by Marvin Querido and choreography by Georcelle Dapat.
Among her guests will be her good friend Vice Ganda and Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo, who have both filled up the Big Dome in their respective concerts in the past.
Anne related what her hordes of supporters can expect from her show.
“I want it to be fun, fierce and I want something na mapapangiti lang ang mga tao. Show leveling ‘to, kaya kung anong pinagkulang sa voice ko, I’ll make up for it sa costumes ko…World tour po ito,” she said, giggling.
